> SOLO TRACK TO BE FEATURED IN HISTORICAL TIMMINS MOVIE.
Every Pioneer a great cultural and heritage track from my current album Close Another
Door will be part of the soundtrack for the film Timmins The First 100.
I met with the film's producer Kevin Vincent over the last few weeks and was blown away
by Kevin's film. Indeed all his work in regards to Timmins' Culture and Heritage has a
high quality.
The song will then become a feature length video which I will upload.
Kevin's film will be part of The Timmins 100 Year Anniversary Celebrations
True to my musicality a lot of my songwriting over the years with The Shaftmen and with
my solo work has always been heavily influenced by the city and it's rich heritage. You can listen to a sample of this track here.

I may be doing the odd acoustic show this summer. Probably with one of the Shaftmen sitting in. Nothing crazy, but it will be hip. I have been really wanting to make some "acousitc vibe" blues music. Still with cool hooks. so maybe a few singles to Apple iTunes would be nice Don't forget you can purchase my solo cd by clicking on the iTunes link at the bottom of this page.
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!

> "LOVE IS REAL" VIDEO FROM MY LATEST SOLO ALBUM CD.
> WOW, I HAVE A NEW SOLO CD AND I'M VERY PROUD OF IT!
A lot of changes took place this year. I found myself writing some new blues/roots songs for The Shaftmen to work on. We have been arranging them, and that has been taking shape nicely.
I’m thankful to all kinds of people who influence my life in a positive way.
Big Thanks to Doug Young owner and engineer at Cochrane Polar Bear Radio
Doug and myself have developed a really great roots radio show. It’s a great hobby, has excellent audio and song choices and takes very little time. It’s totally organic and has become quite popular.
It’s like getting to play those old mix tapes you made for your friends, but on a worldwide basis.
In fact you can hear archive shows right here on my home page. I think it’s one of the best one hour of roots radio shows on the planet.
I get to play artists as diverse as Blue Rodeo, Steve Earle, The Rolling Stones, Jack De Keyzer, all kinds of rock, blues, and of course local and regional acts.
I had a lot of great Non Shafmen songs lying about in various forms. Now with places like Apple Itunes and Cd Baby I decided to release a solo album titled Close Another Door. It’s another side of my songwriting I enjoy which again is just a small hobby.
The journalism thing is still on the go. I have built up a great brand. However, I do not write as much with our newspaper. Yet, I do some columns on local artists work which is great.
All the national product reviews which you can now find at http://jemzz.wordpress.com/ are handled at an agency level input for Sun Media.
Take the time to breath in and out, smell the roses, and take care of the two important things.Your health and your family. John.
