Hello Everyone.
Welcome to my solo website. This site is for the launch of my first solo digital cd called CLOSE ANOTHER DOOR. In addition it will also be the site for my rock/blues radio show podcast and blog.
A bit about about myself:
Music is my passionate hobby. I am the vocalist/songwriter with The Shaftmen www.theshaftmen.com. I
was born in Timmins Ontario, Canada grew up listening to 60’s rock (The
Stones, Beatles) R & B (Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding) and
singer-songwriters like Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Van Morrison. A bit
later to Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor from Blue Rodeo and also some Tom
Cochrane to name just two. The Blues artists like Muddy Waters,
Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher etc are reflected in the music we make
with The Shaftmen. The singer-songwriter stuff will be on the solo
cd. I also host a rock/blues/roots radio show called Collection

Close Another Door-The Solo CD
With this music I wanted a side project. I think US, European, UK and Canadian fans of The Shaftmen would be interested in the songwriting and music. In addition I know they will totally enjoy the radio show and maybe a few solo videos.
The music on Close Another Door is mostly roots based. I previously
had 2 local and regional cd’s out 10 years ago, which had not been heard
outside of the regional area. Some of the material was very good. Too
good to pass up to a bigger audience.
I took a few of those songs
from that period tweaked them and remastered them I then wrote a
few more new tracks. I play most of the instruments on the cd.
The first single will be an R & B track called This Love’s For Real. I recorded it in one take (live) with a 6 piece band named Soul Doctor. It’s a killer track with a great sax solo by Mark Armstrong one of the very best sax players in North America. You can see the video on my home page.
